Women

Honest, with a taste for the very dark side,
Good being bad, thats why I make the girls smile,
You say your girl loves you & wouldn’t leave your side, aw,
If she love you, why she sleeping at mine for?

Victory

Who knew we would end up living in the world of tomorrow where we value the option of death, over the neverending extensions of life ad infinitum. A life, so advanced, developed and rapid in its upgrading; we shall struggle to keep atop.

Waiting rooms of expired magazines, hindered by dull cough choruses, and meeting with one’s GP will be an extinct memory, reinstated with downloadable home prescriptions delivering skittle bags of pills to cure your deteriorating eye sight, hearing, tasting, your misery, your numbness, your blemishes and breaks, cuts and corrosions.

So addicted, are we already, that come tomorrow’s world, an unending ride, funerals really will be a sacred consequence, delivering passages from what exactly – I’ve yet to decide – the result of religion will be an interesting outcome. We all need that reassurance, that belief, especially as our today alters hour by hour, but the already fantastical stories of BCs and Ads and the comparables of Shiite to Shafi’I, Marranos to Maausk, Setianism to Shaivism; will have their lines blurred evermore.

My children and my childrens children will know not of the struggles of today, as I have known not the struggles of yesteryears, but they will still experience growth, maturity, sexuality and being shot down by the opposite sex. This life, despite our daily miseries and miracles, burdens and breakthroughs, is valued for its precious condition. And irregardless of Tomorrows World, a nanotechonologically advanced World that could bring our every desire perfection or downfall, todays should celebrated in all its rough edges, wobbly lines and poor grammar.

Life as we know it.

uniform

your scent invokes a sea of childhood scenes,
assemblies, sitting cross-legged, singing hymns,
few religious but we sang hosanna to the king (of kings),
bravery was cycling proficiency, amongst the cars,
helmets slipping & wheels skidding,
hiding from girls playing kiss catch & missing,
the target of mouths, back then it was gross,
classmates boasting of shiny sticker albums,
now & then there’d be a stint of tantrums,
planting vegetables in the playground gardens,
learning to swim but hindered by chlorine,
it affected my asthma & my struggle for breathing,
bleeding knees from lunchtime games,
playing mega drive at home and saying,
I wonder what I’ll be when I grow old,
well were always growing so I guess you’ll never know,
you’ll never know

tango

we all like to dig up the past,
but we can’t make a clean break with hands covered in grass,
and silt and soil and soot and so,
you can shake it off or you can fail to let it go.

burying your head between the pillows, you wondered if red cheeks would ever fade. where was your wit, your come-to-bed eyes, your intellect? cursing your minds ability to surrender it’s contents, you toss & turn, almost squeamish from embarrassment. you wonder if you’ll ever face the world again, let alone the girl who made you lose your cool.

quebec

A new addition to your pallet, something you’ve never savoured, never chewed or chomped.
You reel back in disgust as a bitter taste invades your mouth & in a matter of seconds, comatose.

papa

…ahead, streetlights lost their light, almost following our footsteps as more metres were gained. quiet: all we heard was the howling wind. none of us spoke.

it was impossible to think of what this place would be like tomorrow, let alone decades into the future. my memories, and the places they were formed, all gone. and i was saddened to know that, the strength of my memory (or lack of) will lead to loss in the details of these places.

we were alive, but unknowing of who shared this, now rare status.
